An Acrostic Iambic Tetrametic Poem With Some Extremely Wrenched Rhythm And At Least One Rather Dubious Rhyme

e is an int'resting concept in maths
to talk of to children while running their baths:
the slope of some curve and its worth are the same -
i recite the digits until they complain.
Pi too is a noteworthy subject: its square
is nine point eight six nine six zero four four.
Minors must be taught complex maths all day long
One knowing log tables can never go wrong.

Only one person is going to "get" the Acrostic.

I love this. And I bet NHW will also get the acrostic.

He'll have to notice it first. Have you ever _seen_ his friends page?

But it's not tetrametric. It's something else.
(te) tum-te-te tum-te-te tum-te-te tum.

Erraum

It's not really iambic. I just noticed that.

Re: Erraum

Erratum is spelt with a "t".

the acrostic

the pain. the mercifully forgotten trauma, suddenly remembered. such creative talent combined with such cruelty.

Re: the acrostic

I know. It's painful. It's gruesome.

Re: the acrostic

Ooooh, dear God. I stared at this for ages this afternoon at the office and, to my shame, Did Not Get It. My much more intelligent wife put me out of my misery when I got home.

acrostic

Are you saying only one person will get "e to the i pi is minus one?" Or what?

(I am Ted Lemon's father)

Re: acrostic

Indeed! A daring and somewhat ludicrous claim. And as it turned out, entirely wrong. This thing I discovered today over lunch is something that at least three people have been living with for many years.

Nice to meet you anyhow, Ted Lemon's father.
